Janice Baker began her court reporting career in 1983 as a freelance reporter. In 1985, she moved into Superior Court in Clayton County, where she served for fifteen years under two superior court judges — building a reputation for precision, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the record.
In 1993, Janice founded Janice S. Baker & Associates. As the firm grew, so did her impact on the profession. She served as Vice-Chair and Chairperson of the Georgia Certified Court Reporters Association and was directly involved in implementing continuing education requirements for court reporters statewide.
In 2000, Janice retired from official court work to focus full time on the agency she had built. Janice is now retired and enjoys seeing the firm she built continue to serve Georgia's legal community.
Rich Baker
Owner & Certified Court Reporter
Rich Baker — Janice's son — joined the family firm in 2008 and became a certified court reporter in 2011. As a voice writer, Rich brings a distinct skill set and a deep understanding of what reporters need to do their best work.
Rich spent over a decade as an in-court reporter, developing the precision and composure that only comes from years in the courtroom. Before reporting, he served as an active duty officer in the U.S. Army and earned his degree from Georgia State University — a background that shows in how he leads the firm.
Rich purchased Janice S. Baker & Associates in 2025. For Rich, it wasn't a change in direction — it was a natural next step for someone dedicated to his mother's standards from day one.

15 years as official reporter, Clayton County Superior Court
